RANDOLPH HARTWELL HARVIN was born in Sumter, South Carolina in the United States of America. A United States citizen he volunteered for the United States Army but was turned down due to an enlarged heart. He then volunteered for the Canadian Army and was accepted. He lived in Detroit, Michigan in the United States of America when he was enlisted.1
